Why a transcript may be unavailable
Updated
The transcript, subtitle and summary tools read the captions TikTok already has for a video. Speech is not transcribed from the audio here, so when there are no captions you’ll see “This post has no captions”.
Common reasons
- The video has no speech — music, dance or ambient clips.
- TikTok didn’t generate auto-captions for the video, or the creator turned captions off.
- It’s a photo slideshow; most have no captions.
- The post is private, deleted or restricted.
Alternatives
The video summarizer can sometimes describe a video without captions from its visuals and description; the result says when it did.
